Armor Power AP8500EDi Dual-Fuel Portable Inverter Generator – 8,500 Peak Watts
The Armor Power AP8500EDi Dual-Fuel Portable Inverter Generator is designed to provide electrical power for residential backup applications, recreational vehicles, outdoor activities, and compatible job-site equipment. Its dual-fuel system allows operation on gasoline or propane, providing flexibility based on fuel availability and operating requirements.
Powered by a 255cc gasoline/LPG-compatible engine, the generator delivers up to 8,500 peak watts and 6,300 running watts when operating on gasoline. When using propane, it produces up to 7,650 peak watts and 5,650 running watts. A propane hose and regulator are included for connection to compatible propane tanks according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
The generator provides 120/240V electrical output and includes a 50A (14-50R) outlet, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) twist-lock outlet, and a 120V 20A outlet for connecting compatible appliances and electrical equipment. It also features USB-A and USB-C ports for charging compatible electronic devices.
For residential backup applications, the AP8500EDi can supply electricity to selected household appliances and equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, sump pumps, lighting, and compatible heating or water-pumping systems. Actual appliance compatibility depends on starting wattage, running wattage, voltage requirements, and the total connected electrical load.
The generator uses inverter technology to provide regulated electrical output for compatible electronic devices and appliances. It features three starting methods: push-button electric start, wireless remote start using the included remote, and manual recoil start.
Equipped with a 3.42-gallon gasoline fuel tank, the generator provides up to 10 hours of runtime at 25% electrical load under specified operating conditions. Its stated operating noise level is 69 dBA at 25% load, with actual noise levels varying according to load and measurement conditions.
The integrated ArmorShield carbon monoxide monitoring system is designed to automatically shut down the engine when elevated carbon monoxide levels are detected. This feature provides an additional safety measure but does not replace proper outdoor operation.
The AP8500EDi also supports parallel operation with a compatible Armor Power generator using the appropriate parallel connection kit, sold separately. Weighing approximately 94 pounds and measuring 23.6 x 17.1 x 22.8 inches, the generator is designed for portable power applications.
